The view students get of their list of subjects in the LMS has changed.
Students were only able to see subjects from the current semester that had also been made available to them by teaching staff. If you enrolled in a subject, but the subject had not yet been made available, nothing would be visible to you in the LMS. This often caused anxiety, as students wondered where their subject was, or if they were correctly enrolled: “Am I the only one who is not able to see the subject?”.
Students now can see listed all the subjects they have enrolled in that exist in the LMS: past and present (Semester One 2016 subjects).
Students will only be able to access those subjects in the list that are currently ‘available’.
Subjects that are ‘not currently available’ will have a greyed-out link, but remain displayed so that students know that they have had/will have access to the subject.
Why do I have so many subjects listed?
All the subjects that exist in the LMS, where you have confirmed enrolment will be visible in the list of ‘My Subjects’. Students will only be able to access those subjects that are currently ‘available’.
When will my subjects become available?
Subjects for semester 1 and semester 2 are automatically made available 10 days before the start of semester. For semester 1 2016 (SM1) subjects and 2016 yearlong (YRL), this means most will become available to students from 19 February. Teaching staff may choose to make their subject available before or after this date.
Subjects from 2015 will remain available until 19 February, when they are automatically switched to ‘not currently available’. Subjects remain available for this long because supplementary exams are being run.
In what order are the subjects being displayed?
By default, subjects are listed alphabetically by subject name. You can customise this order and hide some subjects from view if you wish.
